Polio vaccination drive kicks off

A three-day anti-polio drive began on Monday in Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, FATA and Gilgit. According to details, in Punjab 18.4 million children below the age of five years would be administered polio drop. In Sindh, four-day national immunisation campaign of polio started in Larkana and Sukkur districts. At least 1.5 million children below the age of five years would be administered polio drops in Karachi.
As many as 44654 polio teams have been constituted to achieve the target. Separately, nearly 2.5 million children in Balochistan will be inoculated polio vaccine for which, 9,287 teams and 8099 mobile teams have been formed. Sources told that 815 fixed points and 373 transit points have been established.
