First Common Facility and Training Centre (CFTC) for the uplifting of small arms manufacturing cluster of Peshawar and Darra Adam Khel is going to become operational shortly. The facility will be inaugurated by the Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi next week.
In this connection, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), Muhammad Iqbal Tabish along with Member Board of Director (BoD), PIDC, Sheikh Lutfur Rehman recently visited the facility established under the auspices of Pakistan Hunting & Sporting Arms Development Company (PHSADC) at Small Industrial Estate, Kohat Road, Peshawar. CEO PHSADC, Tahir Khattak along with other members and staff of the company welcomed them. During the visit the guests were briefed about the infrastructure of CFTC and its importance for the uplifting of small arms manufacturing cluster of Peshawar and Darra Adam khel.
The CFTC project is the first of its kind in country's history, equipped with latest machinery and equipment's specifically according the needs of hunting and sporting arms manufacturing industry of Pakistan. Talking on the occasion, Inam-ul-Haq, Member BoD PHSADC said that the absence of modern technology and manufacturing facilities like barrel making machines, high precision CNC machines and other precision conventional and non-conventional machines was a major impediment in small arms manufacturing sector, before the establishment of CFTC. In his briefing the CEO PHSADC Tahir Khattak told that the CFTC will facilitate manufacturers with specialized mass production tools, dies, jigs and fixtures which will aid to reduce the manufacturing time and maintain quality.
