The Karachi Port handled 203,255 tonnes of cargo comprising 167,241 tonnes of import cargo and 36,014 tonnes of export cargo including 6,346 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 167,241 tonnes comprised of 49,738 tonnes of containerised cargo; 8,603 tonnes of general cargo; 39,142 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 20,072 tonnes of coal; 18,020 tonnes of DAP; 1,050 tonnes of sunflower seeds and 69,758 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 36,014 tonnes comprised of 28,480 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,534 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 3,534 tonnes of rice; 3,000 tonnes of talcum powder and 1,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,346 containers comprising of 3,557 containers import and 2,789 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,312 of 20's and 1,059 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 63 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 870 of 20's and 165 of 40's loaded containers while 335 of 20's and 627 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were three ships namely MSC Capri, Milos and Al Mahboobah carrying containers, oil tankers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were four vessels viz. Northern Genius, Xin Zhang Zhou, Maersk Kaya and Global Hope carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively currently at the berths.
There were six ships namely Ever Diamond, YM Excellence, MT Lahore, Smart Sail, Darleakay and King Corn carrying containers, oil tanker, seeds, rice and DAP respectively sailed out to sea on Friday. There were four vessels Al Farahidi, UAFL Zanzibar, MSC Chiara and Burgan carrying containers and mogasa respectively due to arrive on Friday while two vessels viz. APL Japan and Leo Ocean carrying containers are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 90,132 tonnes comprising 66,933 tonnes of import cargo and 23,199 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,721 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 66,933 tonnes includes 22,805 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,800 tonnes of chemical; 1,696 tonnes of LPG; 6,351 tonnes of canola seeds; 2,781 tonnes of project cargo and 28,500 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 23,199 tonnes includes 23,199 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,721 containers comprising of 1,500 containers import and 1,221 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There were two ships namely CV Priority and MT Othoni carrying containers and LPG sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while three ships namely CV Maersk Salina, MV Talia and MT Bahra carrying containers, canola seeds and diesel oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV Maersk Salina, CV Priority, MV Chong Ming, MV Talia, MT Othoni, MT Russel and MT Bahra currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, canola seeds, LPG and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as eight ships namely CV San Felipe, MV Ginga Marlin, MT Black Pearl, MT Elan Vita, MT Nave Rigel, MT Pvt Athend, MT Rise Fortune and MT Lion-M carrying containers, Chemical, LPG, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday.
There were five vessels viz. CV San Felipe, CV Hansa America, MV Ginga Marlin, MV Atlantic Glory and MT Elan Vita carrying containers, chemical and diesel oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday. There were five ships namely CV Hansa America, MV Atlantic Glory, MV Thorco Atlantic, MV Imari and Al Dasma carrying containers, chemical, project cargo and diesel oil respectively due to arrive on Friday. There are five ships namely CV Nicolai Maersk, MV Thorco Legion, MV Chintane Naree, MT Al-Kharitayat and MT Gemini carrying containers, proje ct cargo, slag, LNG and LPG respectively due to arrive on Saturday.
