A modest yet graceful ceremony was organized by the office of the Focal Person for Prime Minister's Laptop Scheme, University of Sindh, Jamshoro at the varsity premises to distribute laptops among eligible meritorious students of 5 additional campuses of Varsity. Those campuses were Laar Campus Badin, Mirpur Khas, Dadu, Thatta and Larkana.
The awardees were shortlisted by higher Education Commission, Islamabad on the basis of students' academic proficiency in their last and recent-most examinations through a rigorous, competitive and fool-proof mechanism and process. A total of 274 from meritorious students from all campuses were given away laptops in the ceremony. Professor Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, Vice Chancellor, University of Sindh was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
Whereas Professor Dr Wazir Ali Baloch, S U Focal Person for this scheme, Professor Khalid Noor Panhwar, Director Students' Affairs and other varsity officials were also present on this occasion. Dr Khalhoro, expressing his impressions on this eve, complimented the students on their rightful achievement and impressed upon them to convey their other counterparts also to work diligently and be able to qualify for the same lucrative incentive. He appreciated the untiring efforts of Dr Wazir Ali Baloch and his dedicated team towards timely, smooth and efficient distribution of IT assets. He advised students to dispose off their academic assignments and keep applying for various indigenous and global scholarship opportunities.
