Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, said that only a disciplined party having competent, trustworthy and honest leadership could pull the country out of the present internal and external crisis. While talking to different delegations in the city on Saturday, he said that turn coats who had been changing parties time and again in search of personal goals, could not bring about any major change.
He was confident that JI would be able to change the course of events in the country with the support of the Islam-loving and patriotic people. Liaqat Baloch said the JI was striving for the supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law. Freeing the masses from the present system based on exploitation and oppression was the central point of JI's political and electoral struggle.
He said the eradication of corruption and the interest based economic system was possible only through the policies of self reliance and honesty. He said the people were sick of the corrupt system and added that electoral reforms and exposure of the corrupt elements was essential for meaningful elections in 2018. Liaqat Baloch said only fair, impartial and transparent elections in 2018 could guarantee the success of CPEC and national development.
