Kaira's elevation to brighten PPP's prospects in Punjab

Appointment of Qamar Zaman Kaira as Pakistan People's Party (PPP) president central Punjab chapter could rejuvenate and revive the party position in Punjab as he is pro-active and approachable to party workers. PPP Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar said while talking to Business Recorder, "these changes are not for the revival of the party but he (Kaira) will make it a most effective fighting machine.
Kaira has established his credentials and on the basis of his performance, the Party chairman appointed him as president of Central Punjab. His appointment is part of the re-organisation and revitalization policy of the party." Babar said that these changes were made to address the concerns of party workers and keeping in mind their aspirations.
Political analysts told this correspondent that Kaira is one of very few PPP leaders who are trying to present the party's vision and is ready to put his heart and soul in politics which is laid on the foundation of true ideology.
Nawabzada Ghazanfar Ali Gul, former MNA and a member of Central Executive Committee of the PPP appreciated the decision of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in appointing Qamar Zaman Kaira as president of central Punjab and Nadeem Afzal Chan as its new General Secretary. He said that the two men would play a positive role in reviving the party in Punjab and added that party workers have shown full confidence in Qamar Zaman Kaira. Ali Gul further stated that the PPP would re-emerge in Punjab with vigour and overcome the tough time it faces today.
PPP die-hard worker Nazir Dhoki said while talking to Business Recorder that Qamar Zaman Kaira is pro-active and follows the political philosophy of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtaram Benazir Bhutto. He added that Kaira is approachable and friendly and his family has been loyal to the party. Nargis Faiz Malik, former MPA, stated that Kaira presents the party' views logically and has good relations with party workers at districts level as well as grass-root level. He is easily approachable to party workers, she said.
