Seminar on 'Domestic Violence and Woman'

Provincial Minister on Minorities and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said that to eradicate domestic violence on woman, it is necessary to root out ignorance and sick minded approach from the society. "We should change our social behaviour and attitude to provide equal rights to woman," he said, while addressing a seminar on "Domestic Violence and Woman" at Kinnard College, here today.
The minister said that without evolving women in the process of nation building, it is impossible to become a developed country. The Punjab government has approved various laws regarding protection of woman rights, he said. By establishing Commission on the Status of Woman, it helps to reduce sense of deprivation and complex from woman, he added.
