Leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan and MQM London on Friday came out in defence of the outgoing governor Sindh, Dr Ishratul Ibad, after Senator Nehal Hashmi levelled allegations against him. Earlier, Hashmi said with the removal of Dr Ishratul Ibad as governor Sindh, last remnant of a terrorist party has been removed from the Governor House.
Speaking to media representatives, after former Justice Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui sworn in as the 30th Governor of Sindh, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said that this day marked the end of Altaf Hussain and an era of those who never recognised Pakistan. MQM Pakistan leader Amir Khan said Hashmi gave a nasty statement. N-league needed no enemy in presence of the senator. He should give statements after deliberation, he added.
Senior MQM London leader Nadeem Nusrat proclaimed the PML-N leader's statement as gravely irresponsible. He said if the ruling party had any objection on the governor, why they did not make it earlier? MQM London leader Ameenul Haq said PML-N leaders used to visit former MQM headquarters Nine Zero (90) at the time of presidential elections and seeking support for prime minister.
Reacting indifferently on Senator Nehal Hashmi's statement regarding Dr Ibad, the Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Mariyum Aurangzeb said Hashmi's statement was only his personal belief. She clarified that Hashmi's opinion does not represent the government of Pakistan or the PML-N.
