Three personnel of Pakistan Rangers died while 10 others got injured in a road accident on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M1) on Thursday. According to details, as many as 14 security personnel were going from Islamabad to Tarbela when the tie rod of their double-cabin vehicle broke near Fateh Jang area and the vehicle turned turtle. In the result of this fatal accident Havaldar Muhammad Asif and Lance Naik Ashiq Hussain died on the spot while another security person succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Soon after the accident, the motorway police rushed to the scene and shifted the injured and the dead to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Rawalpindi. A senior official of the Interior Ministry said the paramilitary force has started an investigation into the accident, adding to that an inquiry committee has also been set up. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives. He also expressed his sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for early recovery of the injured.
