Workshop on QMS ISO 9001-2015 held

Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) on Wednesday organized an event on Quality Management Systems (QMS) that was aimed at capacity building on QMS ISO 9001-2015. People from academia, consumer associations, quality assurance, industries including Shahzad Apparels (Pvt) Ltd, Gul Ahmed Textiles Mills Ltd, Al-Karam Textile Mills (Pvt) Ltd, Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd, Mehran Spice & Food Industries attended the one-day seminar here at Pakistan Institute of Training for Standardisation (PITS), Head office PSQCA.
The participants were of the view that event would help them understand the overview of QMS and its implementation, exploration of the new and revised terms and definitions, the key changes in ISO 9001:2008 and 9001:2015, risk-based thinking ISO 9001 Quality to Business Success and also help them identify the commercial and strategic competencies required to audit effectively against the revised standard.
Ghulam Umer Kazi, Director International Affairs and Trainings, PSQCA in his welcome remarks highlighted the importance of the principles of the development and operation of a quality system. Kashif Butt, Chairman TC, PSQCA, and Dr Nuzhat Khan, Principal Scientific Officer, National Institute of Oceanography, Karachi also enlightened participants by their presentations.
