The Punjab police department is launching 'discount cards' for its officials who would help them procure essential daily items on subsidised rates. Deputy Inspector General Operations (DIG) Dr Haidar Ashraf has started negotiations with different imported and local brand outlets dealers, spokesman of the DIG said. He claimed the dealers are also likely to be set up their stalls at Police Lines of Qila Gujjar Singh on the department's request.
He said the police department is also negotiating with owners of different shopping malls for obtaining the said cards. "The motive behind this activity is to give facilities to our personnel as we are using making our maximum efforts to broaden this net," the spokesman added.
