Promotion of education: Punjab government utilising all resources: minister

Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that no nation can be developed without education and Punjab government is utilizing all out resources to equip the brilliant students under Chief Minister School Reforms Roadmap.
He was presiding over a meeting held regarding education reforms in Civil Secretariat, here Tuesday. He said Punjab government is taking revolutionary steps for promotion of education and funds of billions of rupees are being spent for providing necessary facilities in educational institutions. He said that 80,000 teachers are being appointed across the province for education and training of new generation and 36,000 new classrooms are being constructed for providing quality educational atmosphere.
The Minister said that Punjab government has taken revolutionary reforms in education sector. The Minister was briefed about training of teachers and betterment in attendance of students. It was considered in the meeting about adopting teachers training models of Sri Lanka, Malaysia and other friendly countries. He said six resources centers have been set up in Bahawalpur, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Faisalabad and Multan with the cooperation of British Council.
Punjab Minister was informed in the meeting that a visible improvement has been made in attendance of children in schools under setting up of early childhood classrooms and elimination of child labour programme. Special Secretary Schools Education Imran Sikandar Baloch, MD PEF Tariq Mehmood, Programme Director DSD Imran Saeed and officers of concerned departments attended the meeting.
