Necessary arrangements are being finalized to form Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sialkot. This was disclosed by chairperson of Departmental Committee on Women Entrepreneurs of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Dr Maryam Noman.
She told the Business Recorder on Sunday that Women Chamber would be operational in near future in this export-oriented city and hub of cottage industry of the country. At present a large number of business women were registered with the SCCI and doing their business successfully, she said.
"Main objective of planned establishment of Women Chamber is to empower women-folk and to promote women entrepreneurship of Sialkot and its adjoining areas," she said adding that the dream of national development could not be materialized without the involvement of women in the national development process. She further said that Pakistani women had the capability and courage to bring revolutionary changes in every sphere of life and cope with global challenges more effectively.
Dr Maryam Noman said that the Women Chamber would play its instrumental role in promoting women entrepreneurship enabling them to play their due role in boosting export volume.
