Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday arrested an employee of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) at Pakistan embassy in Kuwait, over embezzlement of Rs 8.2 million. A senior official of the agency said that Adnan Akram who had served as an accountant at NADRA office of the embassy, was arrested upon his arrival at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) from Kuwait.
Following the directives by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, a case has been registered against him. The official served at the Pakistan embassy in Kuwait from 2010 to 2012, and allegedly embezzled Rs 8.2 million. FIA has registered a case against the accused and cancelled his visa and the embassy has taken his passport into its custody.
