Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has issued the figures of cotton arrival up to October 31st, 2016. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 69,48,381 bales of cotton have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of October 31st showing an increase of 7.47 percent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 64,65,600 bales.
According to the second fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued here today, Chairman of PCGA Dr Jeso Mal,Senior Vice Chairman Suhail Mehmood Haral briefed about cotton production and said Out of the total arrivals, 6.94 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far.
Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrivals of 39,22,050 bales recorded increase of 13.84 per cent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 30,26,331 bales while last year Sindh received 30,20,429 bales merely 0.20 percent more.
Ginneries in Sindh recorded an increase of 0.20 percent as compared to corresponding period last year.
Textile mills have bought 49,96,630 bales while exporters bought 1,21,629 bales. The total bales sold out so far were calculated at 51,18,232 bales.
Multan received 1,77,703 bales 143.46 percent increase than last year, Lodhran 1,01,520 bales 91.62 percent increase, Khanewal 4,15,829 bales 36.31 percent increase, Muzaffargarh 2,14,953 bales an increase of 35.96 percent, Dera Ghazi Khan 1,95,151 a decrease of 4.02 percent, Rajanpur 2,37,941 bales, 14.45 percent decrease, Layyah 1,68, 147, 7.25 percent increase, Vehari 2,58,405 bales 2.33 percent increase, Sahiwal 1,59,188 bales 18.65 percent less than last year, Pakpattan 35,200 bales 42.98 percent less, Okara 16,907- 18.38 percent less, Toba Tek Singh 1,26,037 bales, Faisalabad 28,080 bales, Jhang 26,915, Mianwali 1,49,730 an increase of 13.90 percent, Bhakkar 51,172 Sargodha 6,300, Rahimyar Khan 5,04,962 bales, Bahawalpur 5,12,360 an increase of 27.02 percent and Bahawalnagar 5,35,550 an increase of 43.37 percent.
In Sindh: Hyderabad 2,09,141 bales 9.78 percent less than last year,Mirpur Khas (Thar) 2,47,906 bales 5.61 percent less, Sangarh ,11,39,616 bales 7.61 percent decrease, Nawabshah 2,87,075 bales, Naushero Feroze 2,53,109 bales, Jamshoro 98,182 bales, Badeen 23,964 bales and Baluchistan 58,291 bales. Total 1007 ginning factories are operational in the country.Of them 735 in Punjab and 272 in Sindh. Total 18,30,149 bales are lying in unsold stock.
