Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani has once again expressed serious reservations regarding the heinous business of wine on the name of non-Muslims in Pakistan.
In a meeting with local journalists at the Secretariat of Pakistan Hindu Council on Wednesday, he lauded the order of Sindh High Court to close wine shops across the province. Dr Ramesh Kumar, who is also Member of National Assembly belonging to PML-N, emphasised that Alcohol is not allowed in any religion, adding that if somebody is interested in drinking then this must not be associated with any religion.
Referring to different Hindu's Holy Books, Mino Simruti, Rigved, Shrimad Baghwat Piran and teachings of Askand -2, Adhya -17, Shilok-38, 39, 40, 41, he was of the view that even on Hindu religious festivals like Diwali, and Holi, alcohol is not allowed. "Particularly, leaders are strictly prohibited to use alcohol," he said.
On this occasion, Dr Ramesh Vankwani also showed the viral video clip of renowned Islamic Scholar Dr Zakir Naik being circulated on social media, in which the scholar in highlighting the similarities between different religions to inform that alcohol is strictly prohibited in both religions, Islam and Hinduism.
Dr Ramesh said that association of alcohol with Hindus religion is not only hurting the religious sentiments of followers but must also be considered as a blasphemous act.
He said that if this wine trading is not stopped in the name of non-Muslims then as an Hindu leader, he will himself approach to the Supreme Court of Pakistan to present not only Hindu's stance over the matter, but also to brief about his rejected bill in the National Assembly to put a ban on the trade of wine business on the name of non-Muslim.
