Energy minister restricts officers from making decision without permission

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh on Thursday restricted Chief Executives of all the companies working under Sindh Energy Department to not make any decision prior to his approval.

Chairing a meeting with Chief Executive Officers of Sindh Renewable Energy, Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited, Sindh Lakhra Coal Mining Company Limited and Sindh Nooriabad Power Company Limited, he said that Pakistan's first Mechanized Mining System would be introduced soon for coal mining in the province.

Sheikh said that all the affairs of the department would be run on merit and transparency would also be ensured. He asked the officers to ensure timely completion of all the projects.

The officers briefed the minister about performances and issues being faced by the companies. The minister assured to resolve the same.

CEO Sindh Renewable Energy Mehfooz Qazi, CEO Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited Rehan Ahmed, CEO Sindh Lakhra Coal Mining Company Limited Taufiq Ahmed and CEO Sindh Nooriabad Power Company Limited Commodore Najam-ul-Hassan attended the meeting.
