Published Updated

iqwertyISLAMABAD: The exhibition of exquisite cityscapes with vibrant imagery by Karachi based artist Salman Farooqi concluded here Friday at Tanzara art gallery.

The show served the art lovers as a treat of marvelous eye- catching hues, cityscapes and architectural beauty in dreamy portrayal.

The display introduced the strong identity of Farooqi's work with his skills, style and simplified geometric configurations where smooth lines overlap and traverse the canvases.

The paintings were created with rich colour palette and bold compositions to create dazzling reflections amalgamated with basics of understanding architecture.

Vibrant hues in paintings created a sense of joy and relief for the viewers to forget the unpleasant happenings of every day life and get a taste of some unique aspects of landscapes and cityscapes, said curator of the gallery while talking to APP.

Delicate lines, bold colours and glowing texture show thin layers of paint and maintain the clarity of the brilliant hues. Cubic forms with a symbolic significance in work, complete forms of various objects like houses, buildings and the sun.

Using the medium of acrylic on canvas, the artist paints sun as visible behind the buildings in few paintings while keeps electric wires and poles equally visible.

Salman Farooqi graduated with distinction from the Karachi School of Art and practicing art for over a decade as an established artist. He experiments both the realism and modernism while this current work of landscapes and cityscapes focused on impressionism.

His style allures art lovers with soulful element that is also an inspiration for amateur artists as well as art students. Farooqi participated in various solo and group shows and worked on several murals for private collectors at home and abroad.
