Diplomatic relations with Solomon Islands established

Diplomatic relations between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Solomon Islands were formally established, pursuant to the signing of a Joint Communiqué between the two countries on 19th February 2016, in Honiara. Foreign Minister George Milner Tozaka signed it on behalf of the Government of Solomon Islands, while High Commissioner Naela Chohan signed it on behalf of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations will facilitate mutually beneficial relations between the two friendly countries which closely cooperate at the UN as well as in the Commonwealth.
