LAHORE: FIA on Tuesday arrested 17 accused persons including 13 alleged human-traffickers or agents during the last one week in Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions.
According to an FIA spokesman, the arrested four accused are employees of National Transmission & Dispatch Company (NTDC), Wapda /Fesco Faisalabad, who have been held for their involvement in embezzlement of funds and fraudulent release of NTDC material worth Rs 7,775,424. Those arrested for human-trafficking defrauded people on the pretext of sending them abroad for employment.
The accused have been identified as Shahid Iqbal, Maqsood Ahmad, Muhammad Nadeem, Ijaz Ahmad, Khan Shabbir, Ali Akbar, Muhammad Idrees, Rana Asfaq, Muhammad Azhar, Asad Ullah Gorraya, Luqman, Hamid Hussain, Muhammad Nadeem, Muhammad Jawad, Abdul Wahid, Abdul Razzaq and Muhammad Khalid. Further investigation is under way.
