HYDERABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) Secretary Information Moula Bux Chandio has announced that an election alliance has been formed with Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Pakistan.

Addressing a joint press conference with JUP's chief Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair here on Sunday, Chandio said under the seat adjustment the JUP would support the PPP's candidates while his party would reciprocate.

"We hope to get good results from this alliance," said Chandio. Under the adjustment, the PPP would support Zubair who was contesting from NA 227 while the JUP would support the PPP's candidates from PS 66 and PS 67 constituencies.       The PPP's leader condemned the attack on his party's rally in Lyari, Karachi, which was led by the party's chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

He claimed that a few dozen people who pelted stones on the rally did not represent the people of Lyari who were supporters of the PPP since the party was founded.

Chandio said the undemocratic forces still wanted to occupy the power in Pakistan but the people of the country would foil their schemes.

He recalled that in 2013 elections Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan tried to obstruct the PPP from the election campaign but the threats could not dent the PPP's resolve.

Zubair said the JUP had done seat adjustment with the PPP in Punjab province as well."We look forward to get success as the result of this cooperation," he expressed the hope. The local leaders of the 2 parties were present on the occasion.
