Samsung users have lately been facing a serious bug that sends pictures to their contacts without their consent, showing no record of the sent messages.

Many of Samsung users having latest model of the Samsung Messages app have been recently reporting a bug they have been facing in their phones. The bug sends photos from users’ phones to their contacts without their permission and even does not show any record, reported Android Authority.

Users expressed their concerns on Reddit where they complained that either some photos or their entire galleries were being sent to other contacts in their phones without their knowledge or permission.

Mark your calendars: Samsung confirms Galaxy Note 9 launch date

A frustrated user said, “Last night, around 2:30am, my phone sent her [girlfriend] my entire photo gallery over text, but there was no record of it on my Messages app. However, there was [a] record of it on T-Mobile logs.”

Even Samsung’s latest models namely Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus weren’t able to stay away from the bug and faced similar issues, in fact these phones were the most largely affected. Though, no one is quite sure what is causing the bug, device owners have advised users to disable storage permissions for Samsung Messages.

Users can disable storage permissions by going to ‘Settings’, then tap ‘Apps’, then ‘Samsung Messages’. In that tab, users would have to select ‘Permissions’ and then ‘Storage’. However, once the settings are disabled, apart from restraining the bug, users will also be unable send images or GIFs to other contacts.

Samsung is yet to comment about the bug and hasn’t announced any fixes for addressing it, wrote Gadgets 360.
