HYDERABAD: The former chief minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah Wednesday said the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA)was exerting pressure on the caretaker government over the matter of postings of the civil servants.

The GDA is weeping that the government to reshuffle the police officers and bureaucrats, he alleged while talking to the media here. He said the GDA should rather concentrate over contesting the elections instead of making a hue and cry before the caretaker government.

The former CM criticized the alliance for accommodating every single former worker or local leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) who was a little annoyed with certain decisions of the leadership.

Referring to Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, which is a leading party in the GDA, he said the GDA considered itself as unbeatable kings of Sanghar district before the PPP won most of the constituencies in 2013 general elections.

Shah was of the view that the matter of construction of new dams in Pakistan  was a political issue and should not be taken up at the other forums.

He said it was easier to build a dam but he added that a dam could only be built when water was available in abundant quantity.

He told that before construction of the Tarbela dam up to 100 million acre feet water was released to the sea but during the recent years there had been several months every year when not a drop of water was released in the downstream.

Shah criticized Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's President Shahbaz Sharif over his visit to Karachi on Monday and Tuesday. He said the Nawaz league's leader had forgot the city when he was in the power and went there only when he had to canvass for votes in the elections.

He blamed the PML-N's former central government for blocking the development projects for Sindh.
