Pakistan-Tunisia cooperation in art, culture, heritage to further foster bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage Syed Ali Zafar in a meeting with Ambassador of Tunisia Adel Elrabi who called on him here Wednesday said that cooperation and collaboration between Pakistan and Tunisia in the realm of art, culture and heritage would further foster ties between the two countries.

He said that cultural exchanges between the two countries were sine qua non to enhance people-to-people contacts and to explore common historical and cultural heritage.

While dilating upon the significance of calligraphy exhibition, to be held in Pakistan in the second week of July this year, he said that Pakistan would like Tunisia to actively participate in it as it had one of the renowned calligraphists in the world.

Eminent calligraphers of Pakistan who have earned fame all around the world would participate in the exhibition. Exploring commonalities and similarities in fields of art, literature, heritage and calligraphy would go a long way not only in promoting friendship between the people of two countries but would also help to understand each others' culture, he said.

The ambassador assured the minister that Tunisia would earnestly participate, as holding of such exhibitions and joint ventures in the field of culture and heritage would boost friendly ties between the two countries and promote positive image of Pakistan internationally.

The ambassador felicitated the minister on assuming his office as Minister for Information, Broadcasting National History and Literary Heritage and wished him best for his future endeavours.
