Value added textile industry in Punjab will continue to get gas throughout shortage period of winter on the special directive of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, said Mian Abdul Mannan MNA. Talking to journalists here on Monday, he said that we all know the gas consumption is increase manifold by domestic sector during winter and hence government has to take different measures to save people from inconvenience.
However, he said that government fully understands the importance of energy in terms of foreign exchange earning and as job provider. Hence the Business friendly government has decided that minimum life saving gas quota will be ensured to the industrial sector throughout the winter season. In this connection the gas allocated to gas-fired power houses is being diverted to the value added textile sector as theses gas fired power houses would use alternative fuel.
The difference of cost in both fuels will be paid from Export Development Fund contributed by the exporters of value added textile products, he added. He also thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for resolving this critical issue of the textile sector which also provides job to over 40percent of our workforce. He further disclosed the arrangements to start a new fast goods train from Faisalabad to Karachi will also start its operation from next month.
This will provide cheap, speedy and reliable transportation facilities to the business community and particularly the exporters of the mega city. He said that ministry of railways has been directed to arrange locomotives for this good train that will ply between Faisalabad and Karachi on daily basis. Continuing, the MNA said that district authorities have already declared Millat road industrial cluster as a notified industrial area paving way for the concerned departments to provide necessary facilities in this vicinity. He assured that cluster of Khurrianwala will also be declared industrial area very soon.
He said that industrial activities have also increased after purchase of land by Chinese firm Ruyi in FIEDMC. Local industrialists are also purchasing plots in this industrial city and hoped that new industries will not only help Pakistan to achieve economic prosperity but also generate much needed jobs for our youth.
Mian Abdul Mannan was also appreciated of the vision and administrative qualities of the DCO Noor Ul Amin Mangal and said that he has proved himself as the substitute of Nasim Sadiq former DCO who had conceived, approved and completed many innovative uplift projects that entirely changed the face of this city. He said that I have invited Hamza Shahbaz MNA to visit Faisalabad and himself witness the city that is making development on the footprints of provincial metropolis. Responding to a question, he assured that concerned officials have been convinced to start more domestic and international flights from Faisalabad very soon.
