The Punjab government has approved eight development schemes for various sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 4,616.093 million including construction of road & bridge between District Mianwali & Jand (District Attock) (Revised) at a cost of Rs 2,117.258 million.
These schemes were approved in the 26th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party of current fiscal year 2014-15 held at P&D Complex, Lahore. Provincial Secretary P&D Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry, members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
According to Spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included:
1. Acquisition of land for establishment of 2x55 MW imported coal power project near Sunder Industrial Estate, Lahore at a cost of Rs 345.000 million,
2. Establishment of PMU and appointment of consultant for cancer hospital at Lahore (PC-II) at a cost of Rs 117.437 million.
3. Enhancing the Capacity of Charrar Drain to Cater for Rain Water of Ring Road (Package-A&B) Lahore (Revised) at the cost of Rs 506.734 million.
4. Upgradation of Botanical Garden Jallo, Lahore at the cost of Rs 262.115 million.
5. Construction of road from Narowal to Lahore via Baddomalhi-Narang-Kala Khatai Shahdara (length=42-71 kms) in District Narowal/Sheikhupura at a cost of Rs 922.948 million.
6. Rehabilitation of road from Lower Topa (Danna) to Gulehra Gali to Patriata Top length=17 kms, (Revised) Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs 273.908 million.
7. Construction of road & bridge between District Mianwali & Jand (District Attock) (Revised) at the cost of Rs 2,117.258 million; and
8. Development of Surface Parking at Murree (PC-II) at a cost of Rs 70.693 million.
