Cleaning of Nullahs ordered in district Central

KARACHI: Chairman DMC Central Rehan Hashmi has directed to expedite cleaning of about 40km long main drains of DMC Central, including Gujjar Nullah, to facilitate the citizens during coming monsoon.

Rehan Hashmi said cleaning of the main rainstorm drains was the responsibility of KMC but repeated reminders to the KMC have proved futile.

Rehan Hashmi shown his concern about the attitude of the common people, living near rain drains, who usually throw garbage into the rain drains.

He has appealed the citizens to cooperate with the DMC administration by avoiding throwing garbage in rainstrom drains.

Rehan Hashmi also directed the anti-encroachment department to demolish encroachments along the Nullahs.
