ISLAMABAD: The Ambassador of France to Pakistan Philippe Thiebaud here on Thursday called on Minister for Interior Rehman Malik and discussed matters of mutual interest with special reference to further strengthening the intelligence sharing mechanism to combat terrorism related activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Rehman Malik said that Pakistan gives importance to its relations with France and called for further boosting the existing bilateral relations on strong footings,said a press release issued here.
He also appreciated France for providing capacity building training to Pakistan Police officials by its anti-terrorism unit.
The minister also thanked France for appreciating Pakistan's role for elimination of terrorism.
Rehman Malik also welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of France to Pakistan and expressed the hope that during his tenure the relations between Pakistan and France would further be strengthened.
Ambassador Philippe Thiebaud said that his country give prime importance and highly valued to its relations with Pakistan.
The Ambassador lauded the contribution and services of Pakistan for combating terrorism and assured that his country would provide all possible cooperation to combat terrorism.
