SARGODHA: Provincial minister for Religious Affairs, Khalil Tahir Sindhu said on Tuesday that Rs 60 million would be spent for the construction and renovation of 28 Churches, 2 Graveyards and carpet roads in Christian populated areas.
He disclosed this while distribution cheques among minorities' people here. He said that Rs 35 million had so far been spent on the projects and work would soon be completed.
First time in the history, the PML-N government had given due rights to Christian community, he said and added that five percent quota in government jobs was being ensured for minorities.
The incumbent government has provided 91 jobs of Sub Inspectors, 127 jobs of Lecturers and 187 other jobs to talented youth of minorities.
The minister distributed Rs 1,035,000 among 260 deserving Christians and also inaugurated a water filtration plant in Christian colony.
