Mysterious dead sea creature sparks fear of bad luck among residents
Philippines is facing bafflement as a huge hairy six-meter-long creature has washed ashore and people are calling it as something that brings bad luck.
A six-meter long (20ft) grayish-white hairy ‘globster’ washed on the shores of Oriental Mindoro in Philippines. People believe that it is the remains of a creature ‘from the deepest parts of the ocean’ that is destined to bring bad luck. Globster is a term that describes an unidentified organic mass that washes up on a beach.
Though authorities suspect that the carcass is just remains of a decompose whale’s body, the puzzled residents believe it as a sign of ‘something bad coming’. “An earthquake is heading for Oriental Mindoro. The big globster is a sign of something bad coming. Please pray for us,” a local resident Tam Maling said.

As per Independent, another resident Vincent Dela Pena Badillo also described, “Many were alarmed including me when we learned the news about it. It has been told that when creatures from the deepest parts of the ocean start appearing, something bad will happen.”
For now, the mysterious ‘sea monster’ is thought to be either a sea cow or a whale. Experts claim that the hair covering its body were the muscle fibers of a body in the very advanced stages of decomposition. Samples were collected for further analysis and the remains will be disposed off.
Fishery Law Enforcement Officer Vox Krusada said, “Today we just gathered samples of it for further analysis. For now we can say it’s a whale, but the exact species is still unknown. The tissue samples are now sent to our lab for DNA analysis.”
He further continued, “The local government of Gloria will now bury the carcass. And damn it smells awful. It smells like something from another planet. I really experienced the full power of its smell because I’m the one who took the tissue samples. I almost puked. I felt better after taking a bath but the stench still lingers in my nose,” according to Daily Mail.
