KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the port where three ships carrying containers and LPG were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and SSGC LPT Terminal respectively on Sunday, January 8.
Meanwhile two ships with containers and palm oil also arrived at Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy remained at the Port at 38 percent on Sunday where a total of five ships namely C.V Maersk Wyoming, C.V ACX Rafflesis, M.V Hiba Al-Nour-B, M.T Senna-4 and M.T Al-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, LPG and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of during last 24 hours stood at 94,490 tonnes, comprises 74,768 tonnes imports and 19,722 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,414 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port.
Two ships C.V Maersk Wyoming and C.V ACX Rafflesis sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
While two more ships M.T Senna-4 and M.T Al-Soor-II are expected to sail on same day.
Three ships C.V MSC Anafi, M.T Fair Spirit and M.T Ad Fines Sky carrying containers, diesel oil and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO and LCT respectively on Monday, January 9.
While two more ships C.V Asir and C.V CMA CGM Mozart are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday, January 10.
