KARACHI: Clash between PPP and PTI was erupted on Monday night over their plan to hold a public gathering in Karachi located at Gulshan-e- Iqbal, Hakim Said Ground, on the same date and at the same venue.

Two vehicles and dozens of motorcycles were torched as protesters pelted stones, media reports suggested. All shops in area were also shut down as situation remained tense.

According to details, both the parties announced their rallies at the venue on May 12. PPP Senator Saeed Ghani claimed that Pakistan Peoples party (PPP) got permission to hold public rally on Hakim Said Ground.

“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) don’t have permission to hold gathering at the venue but had established an illegal camp for three days”, Ghani blamed.

On the other hand, PTI leader Ali Zaidi reached Aziz Bhatti Police Station to register a case against PPP leaders and workers.

Zaidi said that PTI would lodged FIR against PPP leaders including Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari adding we are a peaceful party and want to give message of peace on 12th of May.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident.
