LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Monday strongly condemned assassination attempt on Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and urged politicians and other segments of society to express solidarity to foil the conspiracy of the enemies of Pakistan.

LCCI President Malik Tahir Javaid, Senior Vice President Khawaja Khawar Rashid and Vice President Zeshan Khalil said in a media statement that assassination attempt on Ahsan Iqbal was a conspiracy to create anarchy in the country. Therefore, the government should utilise all available resources to track down the conspirators, they said.

The LCCI office-bearers said that business community understands well that sincere and serious efforts were being made by the top brass of the law-enforcement agencies, and they have, in many ways, succeeded to uproot the menace to a great extent. These efforts are, without doubt, greatly commendable.

They said that business community would extend all possible cooperation to the government for the cause of national interest. They also expressed good wishes for Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and prayed for his early recovery.
