ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Punjab and President Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that the sincere workers of the party were standing with it with full strength.

“I salute to all the colleagues, who always stood with the party, particularly during its difficult times,” he said while addressing PML-N leaders from Bahawalpur and Multan here.

He asked the party leaders and workers to work with unity to put PML-N once again into power. “I am sure the hard work of party leaders and workers would bring results and PML-N would once again emerge victorious in the next general election,” he said.

Shehbaz Sharif said former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif made the country an atomic power. "Nawaz Sharif was given offers as well as threatened with sanctions when Pakistan was becoming an atomic power in 1998 but he went on with it despite all that,” he added.

He said Pakistan enjoyed exemplary friendship with China adding, “Credit for that also goes to Nawaz Sharif.” “Various power projects in the country are also a reflection of Nawaz Sharif’s policy,” he said.

Shehbaz said PML-N believed in politics of serving people adding that the PML-N government initiated and completed development projects despite several hurdles. He said people’s court was the biggest court and PML-N would go to next election on the basis of its performance.

He said Imran Khan’s Sunday’s gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan failed to pull people as they were not ready to believe him now.

He said when Imran held congregation at Minar-e-Pakistan in 2011 majority of participants were from Lahore, but participants for Sunday’s gathering were brought from other cities by those who were desirous to contest election on PTI ticket.

He said Imran had broken all records of liars and people will reject his double standards in the next election.

The PML-N President said instead of serving people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Imran wasted time in protests and sit-ins.
