Port Qasim power plants not polluting environment

ISLAMABAD: Two units of Thar Coal power plants established at Port Qasim area, generating 1320 mega watt electricity, are not polluting environment in the area.
“No poisonous gas is emitting from the two united, which started production in 2017 and 2018 respectively,“ Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Port Qasim Power Plants, Cai Bin stated this while talking to a news channel.
"Last year, we sent some 101 local people to Chinese universities for training," he said, adding those, who had completed training from those universities, were now doing jobs here.
To a question, he said the power plants were environment friendly due to use of modern technology.
To another question, he said the construction of Port Qasim power plants started in 2015 and its first unit became functional in November 2017, while the second one started electricity generation in January 2018.
