PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has denied writing a letter to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for security.
The provincial spokesman of JUI-F Abdul Jalil Jan confirmed on Sunday that Maulan Fazlur Rehman did not write a letter to any official for security and rejected the news stories circulated in media organizations.
It is worth mentioning here that the news item was circulated that personal secretary of Maulan Fazlur Rehman wrote a letter to IGP KP requesting for provision of extra security owing to security threats.
Earlier, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar during his visit to Peshawar had directed IGP KP to withdraw the security protocol provided to influential individuals within 24 hours.
