SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were up 0.41 percent in morning trade Friday, tracking gains on Wall Street overnight on encouraging US economic data, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, added 8.86 points to 2,182.42.
But gains were limited amid thin trade as investors stayed cautious on the last trading session of the year, dealers said. The Shanghai stock market will re-open on January 4.
