Published Updated

imaqqqRAWALPINDI: Speakers at a seminar on Thursday underlined the need for fully utilizing talent of Pakistani youth for socio-economic progress in the country.

The seminar on 'Role of Civil Society in 21st Century' was organized the Department of Communication and Media studies of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) in collaboration with Human Rights and Minorities department.

Former Federal Minister Minorities, Cultural, Tourism, Sports and Youth Affairs Col. (r) S.K. Tressler was the chief guest. The seminar, the first one as part of INternational Human Rights Day celebration, was attended by the Vice Chancellor, Deans, Faculty members and students.

Addressing the seminar, S.K.Tressler said Pakistan is a privileged country with abundant talent but unfortunately, this talent and resource could not be utilized properly.

He said that due to certain problems, we have failed to collaborate and work as a nation, although it could be our strength. "If we follow three golden principles of Quaid; Unity, Faith and Discipline, nothing can hinder our progress."

He said tolerance is need of the hour and the citizens have to accept each other with all our cultural diversity to help develop a better society. All the laws, rules and regulations of the society should be implemented and followed in true letter and spirit. The seminar ended with a question answer session actively participated by the students.
