Sindh CM inaugurates Food Walk

Published Updated

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday inaugurated the one-kilometre-long Food Walk, formerly known as Sindhi Muslim Food Street, near Tariq Road, promising its proper maintenance and security, and also further development of the city.

The inauguration ceremony, attended by provincial ministers, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders, business representatives and a large number of citizens, featured musical performances and a fireworks display.

The Food Walk, located between Shahrah-e-Faisal and Shahrah-e-Quaideen, opposite Tariq Road, falls within the jurisdiction of Chanesar Town Municipal Corporation (TMC). The stretch has been transformed into an illuminated recreational and dining destination through the installation of a modern lighting system.

Speaking at the ceremony, the chief minister appreciated the efforts of Chanesar Town Chairman Farhan Ghani and other elected representatives for developing the facility into an entertainment and food destination of international standards.

He assured the gathering that the provincial government would ensure the proper upkeep of the facility and deploy police personnel to provide security to visitors.

Recounting his government’s development initiatives across Sindh, particularly in Karachi, Shah said the provincial government was committed to improving urban infrastructure and public facilities.

”You will see much more development in Karachi and the rest of the province,” he said.

The ceremony was attended by Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources Saeed Ghani, Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Food Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman, Chanesar Town Chairman Farhan Ghani, PPP MNAs Asad Niazi and Dr Ikhtiar Baig, prominent business leader M. Zubair Motiwala and Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Talat Mehmood.
