LPG dealers oppose new pricing formula, say will observe strike from 16th
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan LPG Marketers Association has announced a nationwide strike from 16 November over its concerns about a new pricing formula.
The association’s senior vice-chairman, Ali Haider, said LPG sales across the country would stop if the authorities failed to accept its demands within 15 days. Haider said the new pricing formula would increase LPG prices by 25 to 30 per cent.
He said 90 per cent of the LPG used in Pakistan was transported by road in tankers. He added that the formula would also raise the cost of 30 per cent of locally produced gas.
The association has warned that the proposed pricing changes could lead to a nationwide suspension of LPG sales.
