KARACHI: Under the directives of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, the university has initiated the levelling of construction debris left behind by the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project at and around the Gulshan Campus as part of its ongoing Green & Clean Campaign.
In this regard, a delegation comprising Dean Faculty of Science and Campus In-charge Prof. Dr. Abdul Majeed, Patron and Student Affairs Adviser of FUUAST Development Society Dr. Sajid Jahangir, Programme In-charge Zeeshan Ahmed and Public Relations Officer Muhammad Faheem Naz recently met BRT Project Director Tariq Rafiq.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the removal and levelling of debris generated by the BRT project within and around the university’s Gulshan Campus, as well as the reopening and restoration of surrounding access routes. BRT Project Director Tariq Rafiq assured the university representatives that necessary measures would be taken at the earliest to resolve the issue.
Following the commitment, heavy machinery from the BRT project reached FUUAST today and commenced the initial work of levelling the debris. The university administration expressed its special gratitude to BRT Project Director Tariq Rafiq for extending cooperation and taking prompt practical measures to address the issue.
The levelling work was monitored by Dean Faculty of Science and Campus In-charge Prof. Dr. Abdul Majeed, Patron FUUAST Development Society Dr. Sajid Jahangir, President Dr. Atiya Hassan and General Secretary Zeeshan Ahmed.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari appreciated the cooperation and immediate response of BRT Project Director Tariq Rafiq and termed his efforts commendable. He expressed the hope that, through continued mutual cooperation, efforts for cleanliness, restoration of access routes and improvement of the environment around the university would be further accelerated.
