Business Facilitation Centre inaugurated: Kundi assures business community resolution of their issues
PESHAWAR: The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has achieved another milestone by making its mega Business Facilitation Centre operational with the objective to provide the services of various relevant departments under a single roof.
The centre, housing special assistance counter of various public sector institutions, importantly FBR, NADRA, WAPDA, SNGPL, Police, WSSP, KPBOIT, KPEZDMC, district administration and others was inaugurated on Tuesday by Faisal Karim Kundi, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
SCCI President Junaid Altaf in his opening remarks during the event described making of the BFC operational a huge achievement.
The SCCI chief lauded the efforts of Governor Kundi for “Ease of Doing Business” and economic growth of KP.
President Junaid Altaf made several demands on the occasion, notably among them, provision of required funds to complete remaining work on Peshawar Expo Centre, giving representation of KP in various federal boards, special economic relief package for revival of industry and business in the province.
Governor Kundi said it was a matter of great joy and pride for the SCCI as today it achieved a milestone by making the Business Facilitation Centre functional.
The Governor said that the business community had played a key role in the economic progress of the country, and if it was strengthened, the economy could also flourish.
The Governor said that “good days are ahead” and assured that they would continue to support the SCCI for resolving the issues being faced by the business community.
Governor Kundi appreciated the outgoing office bearers of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and expressed best wishes for the incoming president and his cabinet.
“We will work together for the province’s progress, building its soft image and prosperity,” he said.
Later, responding to various questions by the reporters, Kundi said that the long march had been postponed for a week, and“I don’t know what kind of progress will be made within a week?”
He said,“They don’t have the courage to hold the Long March, and they are incapable of going to Islamabad.”
The governor said KP is a terrorism-hit province facing a new wave of terrorist attacks.
“We are lifting the bodies, and they are planning to attack the federal capital,” said the governor.
Regarding the border closure, Governor Kundi said terrorism activities were being carried out from Afghanistan, and India is fully backing Afghanistan to create instability and sabotage the peace of Pakistan.
Governor Kundi assured the SCCIthat their demands would be given consideration.
To a question regarding imposition of Governor’s Rule in KP, Governor Kundi said the Governor’s rule would be imposed as per the advice of the Prime Minister and the President.
Earlier, the Businessman Forum leader GhazanfarBilour also addressed the event and congratulated the business community for the accomplishment of the mega Business Facilitation Centre.
He appreciated Governor Faisal Karim Kundi for highlighting the CNG and Wheat Flour suspension issues with the Centre.
