KARACHI: Gold prices fall sharply on Wednesday, reflecting the international market downturn, traders said.
All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said that gold prices slumped by Rs3700 to Rs458,236 per tola and Rs3172 to Rs392,863 per 10 grams.
World market lost gold bullion prices by USD37, reaching $4358 per ounce while silver regained value by USD2 to USD63.21 per ounce, it cited.
Domestic silver prices also rebounded notably by Rs186 and Rs160, settling at Rs6800 per tola and Rs5829 per 10 grams, respectively, the association added.
It is worth noting that the open market may be trading gold and silver at prices differing those announced by the association, which links them to the interbank exchange rates.
