ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed attached departments of the Ministry of Interior to further strengthen their coordination and cooperation to improve performance.
Presiding over a meeting here on Monday, he asked all attached departments, including National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), Federal Constabulary (FC), National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Directorate of Immigration and Passport, Social Media Protection and Regulatory Authority (SMPRA) and Pakistan Land Port Authority (PLPA) to increase coordination, communication and cooperation.
He said that complete support should be provided to the newly established institutions, including PLPA. “All institutions would be equipped with the required resources and all institutions work together and support each other,” the minister, adding that all institutions must take effective steps regarding data security and cyber security.
He directed all institutions to present a comprehensive two-year transformation plan. The transformation of all attached departments on modern lines is our main goal, he said, adding that all the attached departments would be made public-friendly and exemplary.
Naqvi said that all departments would ensure to achieve their targets to provide citizens with better facilities. All institutions should be able to make decisions independently instead of forwarding every matter to the ministry, he said. “Wherever necessary, proposals for amendments and reforms in laws should be submitted immediately,” he directed.
Naqvi said that during the Hajj operations not a single case of drug smuggling was reported last year and this year.
