Sri Lankan shares close flat

Sri Lankan shares closed nearly flat on Friday as losses in IT and consumer discretionary stocks outweighed gains in health care and material stocks.
The CSE All-Share index settled down 0.09% at 21,129.21
Softlogic Finance PLC and Singhe Hospitals PLC were the top percentage gainers on the CSE All-Share index, rising 12.7% and 8.3%, respectively.
Cargo Boat Development Company PLC and Asia Asset Finance PLC were the top percentage losers on the index, falling 11.2% and 11.1%, respectively.
Trading volume on the index rose to 117.1 million shares from 31.4 million shares in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover rose to 4.35 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($12.96 million) from 1.09 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 1.04 billion rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 4.26 billion rupees, the data showed.
