LAHORE: The Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration between government and industry, aligning the skills development ecosystem with the private sector under the upcoming Punjab Industrial Clusters Program, part of the Maryam Nawaz Hunarmand Naujawan initiative.
The agreement aims to bridge the gap between training institutions and employers, expand women’s access to technical and export-oriented sectors, and build mechanisms for internships, apprenticeships, and employer engagement.
It also provides for joint seminars, research, and policy dialogue on workforce planning.
PSDF CEO Ahmed Khan said the partnership would help institutionalize private sector input into skills programs.
FPCCI’s Zaki Aijaz praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for prioritizing skills training, adding that Pakistan’s economic future depends on a technically skilled workforce.
Both organizations said the collaboration would support Punjab’s long-term economic transformation and export competitiveness.
