LAHORE: The Spot Rate Committee of the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) on Monday decreased the spot rate by Rs 5,00 and closed it at Rs 18,500 per maund.

Speaking to Business Recorder, Cotton analyst Naseem Usman told Business Recorder that market remained steady and the trading volume remained improved a little bit.

He also told that Rate of cotton in Sindh us in between Rs17,900 to Rs 18,300

per maund, while Phutti in the province is trading between Rs8,200 and Rs 8,700 per 40 kilograms. In Punjab, cotton rates stand between Rs18,000 to Rs 18, 700 per maund, with Phutti fetching between Rs 8,800 to Rs 9,000 per 40 kilograms.

Around, 2200 bales of Tando Adam, 1000 bales of Shahdad Pur, 1600 bales of Sanghar, 400 bales of Mir Pur Khas were sold in between Rs 18,000 to Rs 18, 500 per maund, 800 bales of Khadro, 800 bales of Nauabad were sold in between Rs 18,000 to Rs 18,600 per maund, 600 bales of Hyderabad were sold in between Rs 16,900 to Rs 18,300 per maund and 400 bales of Vehari were sold at Rs 18,500 per maund.
