ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM) has warmly welcomed the understanding reached between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran to end the conflict.

“This significant breakthrough reflects the power of sustained diplomatic engagement and the collective resolve of friendly nations to choose dialogue over confrontation,” stated DPM/FM in his post on X on Monday.

He emphasised that Pakistan looks forward to the formal signing ceremony on 19 June in Geneva and remains confident that this positive development will pave the way for enduring peace, stability, and shared prosperity for the region and beyond.

Throughout this period, DPM Dar shared that Pakistan remained actively engaged with all concerned parties and consistently advocated restraint and constructive engagement, maintaining that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means for the resolution of all issues.

“It also sends a reassuring message to the international community and provides much-needed confidence and stability to global markets and the world economy, particularly for developing countries that are most vulnerable to regional instability, he added.”

Dar appreciated the trust reposed in Pakistan by the leadership of both the United States and Iran and commended their commitment to remaining engaged in the pursuit of a peaceful and negotiated outcome.

Dar remarked, “We are also grateful for the support and sincere diplomatic efforts of our brotherly countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Türkiye, Egypt, and others, as well as the United Nations and our international partners who remained closely engaged throughout this process and helped achieve this important milestone.”

As negotiations continue on the outstanding matters, Pakistan stands ready to support every endeavour aimed at consolidating this progress.
