LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan hosted Stetson Sanders at the Speaker’s Chamber on Friday, where both sides discussed ways to strengthen Pakistan-U.S. diplomatic and parliamentary relations.
The meeting featured detailed discussions on bilateral ties, regional peace, trade, education, climate change, and food security. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said Pakistan and the United States enjoy a relationship based on mutual trust and partnership, adding that efforts should be made to further enhance ties between Punjab and the U.S. state of California.
He also highlighted the role of the Pakistani-American community in promoting understanding and cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Speaker briefed the U.S. Consul General on the legislative functioning of the Punjab Assembly and its Standing Committees. He proposed that exchanges of parliamentary delegations could help strengthen bilateral cooperation and institutional engagement.
Stetson Sanders appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace and reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to expanding diplomatic and parliamentary engagement with Pakistan.
