ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s top military leadership on Tuesday resolved to maintain an intensified operational tempo to “decisively dismantle terrorist networks and deny them any operational space,” while sharply criticising the Afghan Taliban for what it described as a policy of providing safe havens to militants, which it said is now “backfiring and stands fully exposed.”

The resolve was expressed during the 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, according to a statement issued by ISPR.

The forum undertook a comprehensive review of the internal and external security environment and expressed satisfaction over the armed forces’ operational preparedness, professionalism, and combat readiness. It noted continued degradation of militant networks and their support infrastructure through ongoing intelligence-based operations, including Operation Ghazblil Haq.

The military leadership rejected what it termed as “frivolous allegations” by the Afghan Taliban of civilian targeting, calling them part of a coordinated disinformation campaign aimed at deflecting attention from internal failures. It reiterated that Pakistan’s actions remain precise and directed solely against infiltrators and terrorist infrastructure.

The conference also highlighted broader regional developments, stressing the importance of restraint and avoidance of escalation, while reaffirming Pakistan’s role in supporting stability through responsible engagement.

Paying tribute to martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians, the forum said their sacrifices remain the bedrock of national security and resilience.

Marking the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, the forum described it as a defining moment of national unity and resolve, sending a clear message of preparedness and cohesion in the face of internal and external challenges.

The military leadership also condemned ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated Pakistan’s continued diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Kashmiri people.

In his concluding remarks, the Army Chief directed commanders to maintain peak vigilance, adaptability, and integrated responses to evolving conventional and non-conventional threats.
